Minimum age is 10+.

Camp hours 9am-12pm

Climbing provides both a physical and mental workout and is a healthy option for children who are not interested in traditional team sports.

Youth Policy

YOUTH POLICY

Kids are natural climbers, and we welcome them to join us at On the Rocks.

Youth
Policy

We do have some rules and restrictions in place to ensure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable climbing experience.

  • The most important Rule: Look up! Watch out for other climbers above. Never walk under other climbers or between the climbing wall and belayers working with ropes.

  • We also have a hard Rule: No Running. Running is not acceptable within the Climbing Gym.

  • We require that you are close enough to communicate with them (without raising your voice), and intervene if they get into a potentially dangerous situation.

  • Active supervision is required, and supervisors are responsible for the behavior of the youth they are supervising.

  • Children ages 8 and under: the adult to child ratio for children ages 8 and under must not exceed 1:2 adult to child and cannot be left alone.

  • Children ages 9-12: the adult to child ratio for children 9-12 years old must not exceed 1:4 adult to children and they cannot be left alone in the facility.

  • Children ages 13+: are permitted in the gym without direct supervision, however, they must be safe and respectful of our gym etiquette.

  • OTR staff have the right to require active supervision for any child under the age of 18.

Community
Driven

We exist to serve this community and to celebrate our shared love for climbing and the outdoors. Community enables us to share personal relatedness and support the perpetual growth of each other, ourselves, and our environment.
